Florida Democratic donors are reportedly looking to recruit Basketball Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade.

According to a new report from NBC News, Wade and fellow Basketball Hall of Famer Grant hill are potentially being targeted to run against Republican Senator Rick Scott in the year 2024.

“There have been separate active efforts to get both to consider a foray into state politics, which have not been driven by either the state or national party, according to three sources familiar with the situation,” NBC News wrote.

One Democratic donor, John Morgan of Orlando, spoke highly to NBC News about Hill and said that he spoke directly to the former National Champion at Duke and “Dream Team” member.

Dwyane Wade recently departed the state of Florida several years after his celebrated career with the Miami Heat. He left the Sunshine State for California and the Hall of Famer cited the anti-transgender laws Ron DeSantis and has instituted in his time as Governor. Wade and his wife, Gabrielle Union, have a child named Zaya, who now goes by she/her pronouns.

“Democrats familiar with the effort to coax Wade into politics say he would be a ‘dream candidate,’ even if an unlikely one,” the NBC News report said.

The world reacted to the stunning report by NBC News about the basketball legends.
