Donald Trump is in the news for various reasons this weekend, but one particular bit didn’t come from the federally-indicted former President. Instead, a former basketball star sent a crystal-clear message his way.

While BIG3 basketball played this weekend, one Twitter user noticed that one player had written “TRUMP WON!” on his head in black ink. And upon review, the user, @LocalSoundwave, saw it was former Iowa State standout Royce White.

Looking across White’s Twitter feed, it shouldn’t be surprising that he feels this way. White appears to be a vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump.

The former Cyclones star’s NBA career fizzled out early due to mental health issues extenuating from White’s fear of flying airplanes. He announced he was running for office in Minnesota’s 5th district last April. The New York Post wrote at the time that White had “far-right populist” views shaped like Steve Bannon. Bannon was held in contempt of Congress and sentenced to prison last summer after the January 6th U.S. Capitol Attack.

Obviously, it’s not ideal. But there is a level of ridiculousness to this that cannot go unnoticed. Getting a tattoo is one thing. Writing it on your head? With what looks like a permanent marker? It feels like there are so many better ways to use a Sharpie other than that. Nevertheless, White made his ‘statement’ loud and clear.
