Former college football coach and current Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville is single-handedly blocking hundreds of military promotions.

Tuberville is protesting the military’s policy of paying the travel and medical expenses for members needing to travel to another state for an abortion after the Supreme Court overturned the landmark Roe vs. Wade decision last summer.

United States Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall recently appeared on CNN and blasted the Senator for his one-man brigade against basic military operations.

“Aenator Tuberville has no experience in the military. This is his first time I think in public service, and I don’t think he appreciates how much of an impact this is having and how negative an impact it is for the military,” Kendall told CNN host Jim Acosta.

Kendalll went on to stress the effects Tuberville’s stance is having on military operations: “It’s very disruptive, it’s very debilitating. It basically is like throwing a big monkey wrench into the works of the Department of Defense.”

Kendall said he wanted Tuberville to think of the servicemen and women affected by his policy.

“We have people all over the country who can not move to their new organization, it’s having a big impact on their families, it’s very disruptive, very debilitating,” he said.

So far, Tuberville has given no indication of changing his stance.
