Doctor Strange

A New York comic book shop got the customer of a lifetime on Sunday when Benedict Cumberbatch, dressed as the titular character from the upcoming Doctor Strange movie, walked through the door.

With Doctor Strange currently filming in New York, Cumberbatch must have decided to take a small break from shooting to visit the shop. JHU Comic Books took to Facebook to let people known that “the Doctor just came for a quick visit,” posting a picture with the English actor in costume.

Cumberbatch not only stopped at the comic book store to snap some photos, but he bought a Doctor Strange comic, even waiting in line to make his purchase.

One more look at Dr. Strange in our store. Spirits were high, with the master of mysticism in the building!

Doctor Strange is based on the comic of the same name about a former neurosurgeon who gets in a car accident, sending him on a journey to become a master of the mystic arts.

The live-action Doctor Strange is directed by Scott Derrickson and stars Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Mads Mikkelsen, and Tilda Swinton. Marvel’s big screen adaptation of the film is set to come out November 4.

I think it’s safe to say the comic book store owners will be there for Doctor Strange‘s opening night.
