Even after 21 years since Tupac Shakur’s murder, nobody has much of an idea what exactly went down. For a new TV special that airs Sunday, Who Shot Biggie & Tupac, Tupac’s former mentor and Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight spoke to hosts Ice-T and Soledad O’Brien and let slip he thinks Tupac may still be alive:

After Suge questioned if Tupac really died the night of his murder in 1996, O’Brien asked him to elaborate. He said:

“I mean, when I left that hospital me and Pac was laughing and joking. So I don’t see how somebody can turn from doing well to doing bad. I’m gonna tell you with Pac, you never know.”

Of the many conspiracy theories, one claims Suge himself killed Tupac to prevent him from creating his own record label. Currently, Knight is in LA County jail awaiting trials on murder, robbery and criminal threats regarding an unrelated incident from 2015.

Earlier this year, Suge had reportedly admitted in a signed affidavit that he knew who was behind Tupac’s murder all along, placing the blame on his ex-wife Sharitha and former Death Row Records security chief Reggie Wright Jr. This isn’t the first time he’s claimed Tupac is still alive, either.
