Adam West will always be remembered for his portrayal of Batman on the campy 1960s TV show, but for modern generations, he might just be better known as Adam West, mayor of Quahog on Fox’s Family Guy.

There were two ways to appreciate the character. You could appreciate that Adam West, the actor who portrayed Batman, was portraying a character named Adam West on an entirely different show. Or you could just appreciate the absurdity that Mayor West brought to the animated comedy. His appearances were often short but they often brought a moment of hilarity and delight that wouldn’t have otherwise been there. With a role literally written for him, West was able to perfect his ability at making absurdist comedy feel authentic.

There have been many tributes to West since he passed away last month, including one by Family Guy creator Seth McFarlane.

McFarlane and Fox have now taken that tribute one step further and compiled a nine-minute montage of Adam West’s greatest moments as Adam West on the show. Press play, sit back, and enjoy, old chum.
