Jonah Hill is a twice Oscar nominated actor and has been in some incredible comedies and drams over the course of his career. But for some reason, he helped make an “intentionally bad ad” for a London skateboarding store.

It’s pretty obvious Palace, the store, wanted Hill to go hard after the “intentional bad” angle. But they really took it to another level.

Here are some of the more painful (?), but great moments of the odd two minute ad.

1. The first time you see Jonah Hill you can tell he’s not there. Why? Well, he’s quasi-moonwalking on the pavement. Throughout the ad he’s walking looks superimposed the whole time.

2. Speaking of superimposed, during the first up-close shot of Hill, it’s very easy to tell he did this ENTIRE commercial in front of a green screen. Take a closer look at Hill and you can see he’s boarded with a light green line, AKA the green screen.

3. The first instance comes up 30 seconds in, but it’s pretty easy to tell Hill is also playing the part of “I’m paid to talk about skateboarding but I have absolutely no idea what the heck I’m talking about.” As evidenced by the line

“And wax my grap tape and whatever other truck stuff I need,” Hill said.

4. “Reboak” shoes. Need we say more?

5. So the shoes are priced in Yen per month? On top of that the buyers required either a 2-year “occasional wear contact” or a 6.5 month contract. The 198.99 Yen per month for 6 1/2 works out to 1,293.43 yen for six months! That translates to $12.84 for six months worth of shoes! That’s a bargain.
