Good news for metalheads across the globe, Metallica is coming out with new music.

The extremely popular heavy metal band, known for hits such as Nothing Else Matters, Enter Sandman, Master of Puppets and Fade to Black announced their 11th studio album, titled Hardwired… To Self-Destruct set for release in November.

James Hetfield and the band also released a single from the album titled Hardwired which is drum-heavy and sports a killer guitar solo. For those squeamish of flashing lights, the music video may be hard to watch.

Lars Ulrich released a statement about the album, telling fans to strap themselves in.

“Putting new music out there, getting in your faces once again and all that comes with it is what we love to do more than anything else, so strap yourselves in … INCOMING!”

Metallica last put out a studio album in 2008, with the release of the Grammy-winning Death Magnetic. Their latest release features 12 tracks on a two-disc album. The deluxe version of Hardwired… to Self-Destruct includes a bonus third disc, which contains another 14 tracks, 13 of which are Riff Origins.

The band has been making music for nearly four decades and while it will be hard to ever recapture their massive success in the mid-80s to early-90s, continuing to release new music is awesome. Hardwired… to Self-Destruct hits music shops Nov. 18 and is available on CD, vinyl and digital.
