Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson was a proud papa this weekend when stepson Future hit his first home run.
Wilson and Future Zahir were working on a few pitches when the 8-year-old got ahold of one and sent it over the fence.
You can see, from TMZ, how excited the Broncos quarterback was for his young athlete. Wilson called it a “proud dad moment.”
“His first Home Run way over the fence!” Wilson said of the moment in the video’s caption. “Future taking ground balls, pop flies & extra swings. Right before Sundown.” Anything worth having, we all have to work for!!! Proud dad moment.⚾️”Many may have forgotten, but Wilson was a two-star athlete in college. Before transferring to Wisconsin, Wilson played for NC State from 2008 to 2010 and was drafted by the Colorado Rockies.
Future Zahir is the son of Ciara and former boyfriend and rap artist Future. There had been some controversy over the years between the couple and the elder Future, who was displeased when Ciara married the quarterback.
The relationship between the three especially became strained after Future kept calling out Ciara and Wilson’s relationship through various means over the years.
But tension has cooled down now.
Russell Wilson, of course, will enter his second year with the Denver Broncos this coming fall.
