Who lives in a pineapple next to Times Square? Starting this fall, SpongeBob SquarePants!

SpongeBob SquarePants and his friends are getting ready to take Broadway by storm with a brand new musical that will sure to be an instant hit and must-see for SpongeBob fans. The musical, titled “SpongeBob SquarePants,” will hit the stage at the Palace Theater on Broadway and will feature music from a list of popular artists including John Legend, Cyndi Lauper, and the late David Bowie. The show has already been ongoing in Chicago since last summer. Success in The Windy City prepared the show to grab a spot on Broadway.

And because the show is coming to Broadway, a star-studded lineup of musicians is being lined up to make this a must-see show. Among the musicians tabbed for performances are Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Lady Antebellum, the Flaming Lips, and Grammy winner Yolanda Adams.

Much of the casting needs to be filled out, but Ethan Slater will continue playing the lead role after his run as SpongeBob in Chicago. The New York Times reports this will be Slater’s Broadway debut.

The curtain goes up on SpongeBob SquarePants in New York starting November 6, with the grand opening set for December 4.
