After moving on to the NASCAR playoff round of 12, Bubba Wallace made another major move when he won the pole at Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday.

Of course, Wallace was very excited about how he finished.

“I held it wide open,” Wallace said. “It’s all about the people at 23XI, the 23 team, and the 45 car as well. We keep pushing each other to be better and better, and it’s paying off. I’m proud of the effort, but it’s nice for a moment, tomorrow is the real test.

“Was I expecting it? I don’t know. In qualifying I tend to try too hard and overthink things. I need to stop that and just go out and do. So that was a good surprise.”

Wallace now finds himself in a position that he hasn’t found in a long time and that’s in the front of the line to start a race, now it’s just a matter of seeing if Wallace can take advantage of the position he finds himself in.

He has been racing well these past few weeks and for his sake, it needs to carry over to victories. If Wallace can figure out how to win the playoff this year, it could have a seismic shift on his reputation in NASCAR circles.
