Anheuser-Busch better get started on creating a watermelon-flavored beer.

The beer company announced they are aligning with Trackhouse Racing and Ross Chastain, as Busch Light will be on Ross Chastain’s #1 Chevrolet starting in 2024 in a multi-year agreement.

Anheuser-Busch has been the official beer of NASCAR since 1979 and has sponsored Kevin Harvick since 2016. With Harvick retiring at the end of the NASCAR season, Busch moves to Chastain.

Chastain is one of the most dynamic and polarizing drivers in NASCAR. In a family of watermelon farmers, Chastain has a great origin story, from working on the farm to racing in the NASCAR Cup Series. However, Chastain’s aggressive tactics on the track earned him a reputation that angered many of his peers and the ridicule of their fans, along with praise from his fans. Recently, Chastain made an effort not to be as aggressive in situations that didn’t merit being aggressive.

“On the farm in Alva, Florida, Busch Light has always been the beer of choice for all of our celebrations, and now that they are right by my side as my sponsor – it’s a dream come true!” said Chastain. “This sponsorship means so much to me as the brand not only supports NASCAR, but also places value and extends their support to communities that are close to my heart — the humble, hard-working people across the U.S. who enjoy cracking a cold one after an honest day’s work.”

Love him or hate him, Chastain gets a response from everybody. That speaks to sponsors looking for people who can reach everyone and get attention from the media. Anheuser-Busch found their NASCAR guy in Ross Chastain.
