NASCAR Truck Series driver Jordan Anderson suffered a life-threatening injury in a fiery crash while racing at Talladega Speedway on Saturday.

The announcers were quick to note the amount of smoke as Anderson slammed into the wall and escaped his burning vehicle.

“Jordan Anderson involved in a scary accident today during the NASCAR Truck Series race at Talladega,” wrote Always Race Day.

Anderson did not escape injury as it would appear in the video. The driver was life-flighted to a nearby hospital in Birmingham for severe skin burns:

“An update on Jordan Anderson after his crash at Talladega Superspeedway. He is being airlifted to the hospital in Birmingham,” Fox Sports reported following the crash.

“Jordan Lewis has been loaded into a medical helicopter at Talladega,” reported Noah Lewis.

“That Jordan Anderson accident is one of the scariest things I’ve ever seen,” said Jay Arnold.

Multiple media reports said Anderson was awake and alert at the hospital.
