We have all been in a situation before where you drop everything you are doing just to watch a key sports moment unfold. We just all haven’t been in quite this position.

In Chile (supposedly), doctors were performing surgery on a patient at the same time Chile was facing Portugal in a Confederations Cup semifinal match. Not wanting to miss a beat while keeping a heartbeat ticking, doctors had a TV in the surgery room tuned into the match.

As the game went to penalty kicks to determine a winner, doctors stopped what they were doing in the middle of the surgical procedure to watch Chile claim victory, celebrated, and then went right back to the business at hand.

Sometimes you have to get a surgery done as soon as possible, but if you ever need to get a surgical procedure done in Chile for some reason, you may want to try avoiding scheduling your operation for the same day Chile is playing a soccer match.
