This week, a video went viral showing a man violently launching himself and attacking a Las Vegas Judge after he was denied probation.
According to the New York Times, Deobra Redden was in court in Las Vegas for a sentencing hearing on Wednesday morning after pleading guilty to attempted battery with substantial bodily harm. He and his lawyers were seeking a sentence of probation, but the judge was not willing to grant that to him.
“I appreciate that, but I think it’s time he get a taste of something else,” Judge Mary Kay Holthus said before continuing with her sentencing.
“I just can’t with that history,” Judge Holthus said, appearing to refer to Mr. Redden’s criminal background.
After Holthus denied the probation, Redden immediately ran at the judge, launching himself at her over the courtroom bench before he was subdued by law enforcement officers.

Judge Holthus and a court marshal were both injured in the attack, but it seems that they are expected to recover from their injuries.
