The Brittney Griner saga continues for the time being, with the 32-year-old WNBA star being held in a Russian prison for drug possession and, as of now, serving a nine-year prison term.
While U.S. officials try to free Griner, Griner’s wife Cherelle appeared Tuesday on The View as she continues to fight for her to be freed. However, Cherelle says she is worried that as time passes, Brittney’s situation is starting to affect her state of mind.
EXCLUSIVE: Brittney Griner's wife Cherelle Griner to #TheView: "BG's my person. We do absolutely everything together and so it has been really hard trying to adjust how to live every day without your favorite person." https://t.co/cVclFZQU98 pic.twitter.com/T7yeB4Xy65

“We spoke only 3 times out of the 8 months since she’s been sentenced. The last time I spoke with her was a week before her appeal, and she said her mental is not there,” she said.
Cherelle Griner continued to say that her wife feels herself slipping away.
“She said, ‘I’m really trying to hold on to the last bit of you that I can remember. My mind is fading in here.’ It’s so disheartening to hear,” Cherelle said.
Cherelle was asked what the public can do to help Brittney and she said writing letters is the best way.
“I just think words make a big difference,” she said. “We set up a letter-writing campaign just to remind her that she is freaking important and impossible to forget and just be her strength for her right now because she doesn’t have it.”
Hopefully, no one will forget Brittney Griner.
