The Sacramento Kings released five pretty awesome new logos on Tuesday and want fans to embrace them in a pretty serious way. The Kings are offering free tattoos to any fans who want to get tatted with the new logo.

As the Sacramento Bee reports, the Kings announced that on Wednesday they’ll pay for tattoos of the new logo if you hit up select tattoo shops in the California area.

“The Kings said fans can have the tattoos applied, on a first-come, first-served basis at the following parlors: Royal Peacock, 2101 P St.; Honeymoon Tattoo, 10119 Fair Oaks Boulevard, Fair Oaks; California Tattoo, 7946 Auburn Boulevard, Citrus Heights; Quarter Horse Tattoo, 916 N. Yosemite St., Stockton; and Crimson Needles, 3125 Penryn Road, Penryn.”

Fans seem pretty stoked about getting the logo tattooed on their body.

Who can blame them if it’s free?

I do love the logos and think they’re a massive upgrade on what the Kings used to sport. However, is it really a smart move to get a tattoo of such a mediocre team permanently etched on your body? Sacramento has stunk for a long time and it doesn’t seem like that will change under owner Vivek Ranadive. It’s why the organization rebranded. In with the new out with the old. Fans would be making quite the gamble that the Kings can turn their fortunes around and the tattoo won’t serve as a reminder of disappointment.

Regardless, it’s a cool move by the Kings and a great way to promote the new logo.
