Heinz Chicago Dog Sauce

Chicagoans put just about everything on their hot dogs. Mustard, onions, tomatoes, relish, pickles, peppers, celery salt. Everything but ketchup.

People have all sorts of hot dog hot takes, whether it’s debating if a hot dog is a sandwich or what condiments belong. Chicagoans are as stubborn as possible when it comes to the ketchup topic. Even President Barack Obama said ketchup on a hot dog is unacceptable.

That’s a big problem for Heinz. So now they’ve unveiled a new Chicago Dog Sauce to satisfy the people of Chicago and break into the market.

Of course, it was all a beautiful troll job for National Hot Dog Day on Tuesday. Chicago Dog Sauce is just ketchup with a different label, but that didn’t stop a bunch of Chicagoans from saying they loved the new sauce on their dogs. Chicago Dog Sauce is now available for $5 a bottle at chicagodogsauce.com.

Chicagoans won’t eat ketchup, but they will eat a pickle-peppermint snow cone. Go figure.

When will people learn that all you need for an ideal dog is mustard and sauerkraut?
