Twitter vending machine

You’re probably wondering: what is a Twitter vending machine? Does it give you rotten eggs like Twitter often does? That’s what it might sound like, but that’s nothing like what the reality is.

This vending machine will offer the chance for lucky fans to win prizes if they tweet specific hashtags during the game. The machine will be set up in the upper deck of Chase Field when the team hosts “La Terraza” events, which allows fans to enjoy a bit more of a Latin vibe including food, music, and other goodies.

To use it, all you have to do is go up to it and use the hashtag #DBacksManSol (rolls off the tongue), and the machine will generate an account-specific code, which you then tweet out. Once you’ve tweeted, the machine will give you a prize, which could be anything from a koozie to a food voucher to maybe even more than that.

This is a pretty cool idea in order to get fans more socially active during the games, and also gives them a reward for doing so. More teams are starting to add these vending machines in stadiums, arenas, and parks across the country, and no one should be surprised if they become a mainstay eventually.

The next time Arizona will be using this machine is during the series against the San Francisco Giants on September 9-11. If you’re heading to those games, give this machine a try and see what it gives you.
