Texas Rangers second baseman Rougned Odor (not to be confused with his brother, also named Rougned Odor) must be thrilled about his new contract extension with the team.
During the Rangers’ Spring Training game with the Seattle Mariners on Saturday, as Odor was taking the field, he threw a cup of water into the face of Felix Hernandez, his Venezuelan countryman.
Based on the reaction from Hernandez (and the fact that Odor would even do this during a meaningless Spring Training game), it’s pretty clear they were joking around and it wasn’t malicious. Hell, it probably felt good in the afternoon Phoenix heat.
And let’s be honest here – having Odor throw a cup of water in your face is a better option than him throwing a fist at your face, which Jose Bautista can attest to.
