If you live in Henry County, Georgia or in certain places in Florida, get ready for the SHAQ 2020 ads.

No, Shaquille O’Neal isn’t talking about challenging POTUS. Instead, the current honorary deputy in Clayton County, Georgia wants to be the next sheriff in either Henry County, Georgia — where he’s a resident — or where his home in Florida is.

In his announcement video, the 45-year-old makes it very clear what his goal is:

“This is not about politics for me. This is something that I’ve always wanted to do. This is about bringing people closer together,” Shaq said. “When I was coming up, people loved and respected the police – the deputies. And I want to be the one to bring that back, especially in the community that I serve.”

Shaq has already shut down the possibility of running for mayor, but now appears to be eyeing a different role in government. Of course, outside of his “honorary deputy” role, the big man doesn’t really have any day-to-day experience in law enforcement, but that’s not stopping him.

I’d like to think Shaq’s campaign ads in 2020 will include a lot of these plays…
