Ted Cruz deeply admires Colin Kaepernick’s willingness to speak out on something he believes in and applauds the quarterback’s stance against police violence, the Texas senator said Thursday.
Just kidding! Cruz feels about Kaepernick exactly as you’d expect and called him a bunch of mean names Thursday to prove it.
.@TedCruz alludes to Colin Kaepernick as part of "knuckle-headed quarterbacks who don’t understand the National Anthem."

.@TedCruz on Colin Kaepernick: "I think that rich spoiled athlete ought to give all his money to take care of fallen police officers."

No shock here, as Cruz rarely deviates from the typical right-wing talking points. Police brutality has become one of the most polarizing and partisan issues in the country, and that doesn’t change when it’s coming from NFL quarterbacks.
Those of us who believe police should be held accountable and recognize the nobility in calling attention to social inequalities might appreciate what Hillary Clinton had to say at the Al Smith Dinner on Thursday night.
CLINTON: "Let's come together, remember what unites us, and just rip on Ted Cruz." https://t.co/KWeLXBR7ZS

But regardless, we should probably discount Cruz’s sports opinions, as a general rule. The guy probably thinks quarterbacks should be shooting at a basketball ring instead.
