It’s easy to assume the immediate families of wealthy, uber-famous celebrities are also set for life following the massive success of those close to them. On Saturday, it was proven that’s not always the case. Mariah Carey’s older sister Alison Carey was arrested and charged with prostitution.
Carey, 55, was arrested in Saugerties after an undercover investigation discovered she was soliciting money for sex in a hotel, according to the Daily Freeman. Carey reportedly used the Internet to advertise her services. The saddest detail about her online posts was Alison used her the lyrics of Mariah Carey’s 1995 hit Fantasy to advertise her services.
“Im a pretty lady looking for guys who are looking to have some fun and get into a world of pleasure that other woman just cant provide two you,woman with the ability to make the earth move for you and to get you to see stars, oh yea with me its,”ITS SUCH A SWEET,SWEET FANTASY BABY, WHEN I CLOSE MY EYES I COME AND TAKE YOU ON AND ON.”
Carey used the same lyrics on multiple online listings. She misrepresented her age on the posts, claiming to be between 45-47.
The Daily Freeman reports police have urged people who’ve had sexual encounters with Carey to go to their doctor. According to the Hollywood Life, Alison has battled HIV and has multiple serious health issues. Mariah and Alison have been estranged for more than half a decade.
The relationship between Mariah and Alison might be strained past the point of no repair, but hopefully, Carey, who’s worth hundreds of millions of dollars and is engaged to Australian billionaire James Packer, can support her sister to get the help she needs. She’s not obligated too, but I can’t imagine seeing her sister struggle so badly is easy.
Carey is in jail on $1000 bail. Her court date is set for August 30.
