Scott Dixon, the pole sitter for Sunday’s Indianapolis 500, former three-time Indy 500 champion Dario Franchitti, and Dixon’s wife Emma Davies-Dixon were robbed at gunpoint on Sunday.

At a Taco Bell drive-thru.

Yeah, that happened.

According to a report from CBS 4 in Indianapolis, Dixon, his wife, and Franchitti were robbed by a pair of teenagers while sitting at the drive-thru at around 10 PM on Sunday night, a few hours after Dixon won the pole for the race. The two teenagers were arrested later in the evening, via ESPN.

Two males, ages 15 and 14, were arrested, according to the police report. Both were charged with robbery, while the 15-year-old was also charged with resisting law enforcement.

The teenagers allegedly took credit cards as well as Davies-Dixon’s wallet and identification. The drivers and Davies-Dixon were not injured in the incident.

Thankfully, everyone is alright and this incident was quickly resolved. But how scary must that situation have been – just hours after one of the crowning moments of his career, Dixon, his wife, and his friend are all robbed just trying to get some food quickly after what was likely a long day?
