As the Arizona Diamondbacks continue to stump for their third baseman Jake Lamb to be the NL’s Final Vote winner for next week’s All Star Game in San Diego, they’ve found a new and very creative way to encourage their fans to vote for Lamb… an actual lamb.

Those droppings may be a coded metaphor for how the D-Backs season is going, but you can’t deny that this isn’t a cool idea, at the very least. But let’s think about the lamb for a second and not the Arizona third baseman. What do you think is going on in his head as he’s being trotted around a strange and hot place meeting new and weird people?

At least Paul Goldschmidt is already an All-Star, because the D-Backs probably don’t have enough money to make their entire ballpark gold to encourage fans to get out and vote.

At least Jake Lamb made a new friend in all of this.

Lamb is competing against San Francisco’s Brandon Belt, Pittsburgh’s Starling Marte, Trevor Story of Colorado, and Ryan Braun of the Brewers. Lamb is currently fourth. Will his new friend propel him to the top?
