Brett Favre can add another honor to his extensive career achievements.
The National Football League inducted the 2016 Hall of Fame class into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday night. Among the legendary players entering football’s holiest shrine was the former Green Bay Packers quarterback. The legend, who holds multiple NFL records and is a Super Bowl champ, delivered an epic speech at the event, despite it being mostly off-the-cuff. Here are the highlights.
Favre half-jokingly suggested head coach Mike McCarthy give him the first series versus the Packers in tomorrow’s preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts.

Favre, despite playing briefly with the Atlanta Falcons, New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings, made sure to mention he’s going into the Hall of Fame as a Packer.

The legendary quarterback talked about his relationship with his father. It was quite emotional, as Favre got choked up.
Speaking with the same level of emotion he played with, @Favre4Official shares a fond memory of his late father.https://t.co/6OIgHdcjQz

On a lighter note, Favre joked he loved slapping former teammate Marco Rivera’s ass.

Favre continued to get overwhelmed with emotion before asking fellow Hall of Fame nominee Kevin Greene for a bottle of water. He mentioned he’s glad Greene’s now on his team.

Favre’s off-the-cuff speech was both fitting and touching. The comments he made about his time in the NFL were genuine. It’s clear he lived out his dream and was appreciative of every single moment. Favre’s career may have ended on a downward slope, but at his best, he’s one of the greatest – if not the greatest – quarterback to ever play pro football. The Hall of Fame induction is a well-deserved honor.
