Bat flipping in baseball seem to be either loved or loathed depending on your perspective. For some, it’s a great celebration and to others, it’s showing off. For this Korean League baseball player, this bat flip went horribly wrong.

Kia Tigers player Lee Bum-Ho of the Korean Baseball League flipped his bat after getting walked (though it really looked like a strike) and hit the umpire as the bat came down.

Despite the umpire giving Lee a pretty good death stare, it didn’t seem malicious or anything. It was merely an accident and Lee did appear to be apologetic when he realized what happened. But at the same time, I would have to imagine the umpire will be a little less lenient to Lee the next time.
