In the fifth inning of Friday’s game between the Padres and Pirates, San Diego rookie Carlos Asuaje launched his second career home run, a deep blast to right-center field.

The umpires originally ruled that the ball had hit the top of the wall, but replay quickly showed it had in fact cleared the fence and hit a fan in the… well, see for yourself:

If you need that slowed down a bit, here’s a painful gif. The poor guy seems to lose the ball in the lights or something and then… let the “ball” jokes commence.

The most devastating part is when the fan reaches over the wall as if to grab the ball, then realizes he has bigger problems to worry about. That delayed sensation will get you.
