On Sunday, a Los Angeles Lakers fan won $100,000 for making a half-court shot at Staples Center, and another Lakers fan did the same in January 2018. While $100,000 is certainly on the high end of prizes, most NBA teams offer pretty large prizes for fans making half-court shots.
Then there are the New York Knicks.
During a break in action for Friday night’s Knicks-Pelicans game at MSG, a fan nailed a half-court shot. He was rewarded with… $1,000 in scratchers.

Northeastern just had a kid take a half-court shot to win $2000 of actual money. You don't want to be doing worse promotions than NU, Knicks. https://t.co/MrXqTm4TRz
