The Chicago Bulls were surprisingly big-time buyers ahead of last week’s NBA Trade deadline. The Bulls took a huge swing to acquire All-Star center Nikola Vucevic from the Orlando Magic that understandably got most of the attention. But they made another valuable move in a second trade for a big man when they beat the trade deadline buzzer to acquire Daniel Theis from the Boston Celtics.

While Vucevic has already played a game for the Bulls, Theis didn’t make his debut until Monday night’s game against the Golden State Warriors.

Well, Theis didn’t take long to show off what he brings to the table, with six points, two blocks (one of them was ridiculous), and one assist in his first nine minutes of the game.

And two of those points also came on an incredible dunk. On a pick-and-roll, Bulls rookie Patrick Williams threw Theis an alley-oop pass., and Theis reached over Warriors rookie big man James Wiseman to throw down a vicious one-handed Jam.

Bulls announcers Adam Amin and Stacey King of NBC Sports Chicago went nuts, with King even dropping a “THEIS THEIS BABY!” line.

That play came after had Theis had made an awesome block in the first quarter.

It didn’t take long to for Theis to become a Bulls fan favorite.
