College football can be a frustrating game, even in games where your team is winning. And on Saturday afternoon, Pitt Panthers‘ defensive lineman Devin Danielson learned that the hard way when he absolutely lost his mind on the sideline after a late touchdown from the Miami Hurricanes.
Even though the Panthers were up big in Saturday’s game and were in absolutely no danger of losing to the Hurricanes, Pitt did surrender a fourth-quarter touchdown. And Danielson to that touchdown in a way that shocked even his own Panthers teammates.
Cameras caught the Pitt defensive lineman having what appeared to be a lighthearted conversation with a teammate, but then without warning, he suddenly took his helmet and absolutely slammed it into the ground before then smashing it onto his head three different times.

The outburst even shocked his teammate, who can be seen in the background of the video cringing as their teammate appeared to harm himself with the helmet.
It was certainly a shocking moment, and the college football world had plenty to say about it on Twitter.

Don’t focus on the Pitt player smashing his helmet on his head. I know that’s tough. Watch the bench reaction. pic.twitter.com/hrjQnBTwy9

It’s worth noting that he was not harmed by the brutal actions. He actually returned to the game following the wild scene on the sidelines.
