We all know that Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce is a great tight end, but did you know he is also a great baseball player as well?

Reggie Sanders, who was the Ohio scout for the Atlanta Braves, says Kelce easily could have made their team.

Sanders says he remembers seeing Kelce back in the early 2000s at Cleveland Heights High School and said that not only could Kelce hit but he was fast too.

“He seemed like a big leaguer on a field of high school players,” said Sanders to TMZ. Sanders worked with the Braves from 2002 to 2007. “He looks almost the same size today as he was in high school.”

Sanders said that had Kelce stuck with baseball, he’d be a star. He even compared him to former Texas Rangers star Josh Hamilton. Ultimately, Kelce decided to give up baseball and follow his older brother into football. Kelce attended the University of Cincinnati and was later drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs.

Kelce is considered the best tight end in the game today. He and quarterback Patrick Mahomes have been deadly on the field with an amazing 62 combined touchdowns in the regular season and playoffs. He and Mahomes have become the new Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrison for this generation. But it is fun to think about what he could have done on the diamond, too.
