at AT&T Park on August 28, 2015 in San Francisco, California.

In 2014, San Francisco Giants outfielder Hunter Pence had his scooter stolen:

Three days after that tweet, the scooter was returned to Pence, unharmed.

Pence went on to autograph the scooter, and donated it to San Francisco’s Make-A-Wish Foundation, where it raised $40,000.

Well, on Saturday night, the Make-A-Wish Foundation was robbed, and the burglars stole the scooter (as well as laptops, iPads, etc). Just sickening.

The robbery shocked and saddened Make A Wish employees.

“It’s just such disappointment that somebody would do this,” said staffer Tamara Burnett. My heart just kind of sank….I didn’t believe it….It absolutely breaks your heart.”

She continued: “Most of all I just want justice. Our organization strives to grant every eligible wish child’s wish and we would hate for this to set us back.”

“Clearly our mission is all over the walls,” said Burnett. “They knew where they were coming….How do you open up this drawer, see batkid hats, batkid t-shirts and then still continue to take things?”

The police are investigating the incident, and have some surveillance footage of the suspects.

Pence tweeted in shock about the news on Sunday:

Let’s hope the suspects can be identified, and that the stolen items are returned to Make-A-Wish.
