Ryan Williams recommitted to Alabama on Wednesday. The elite wide receiver recruit had turned some heads after he de-committed from the Crimson Tide after Nick Saban retired. But the allure of playing for the Tidie still runs strong enough, apparently.

On3’s Hayes Fawcett reported the news of Williams’ recommitment to the Crimson Tide.

“Five Star Plus+ WR Ryan Williams tells me he has committed to Alabama!” Fawcett posted. “The Top 5 recruit in the ’24 class chose the Crimson Tide over Auburn, Texas A&M, and LSU.”

Fawcett posted the news on X, the website formerly known as Twitter.

This is both a big and crucial get for Alabama. New head coach Kalen DeBoer took over the Crimson Tide a few weeks ago, but saw an unsurprising swath of transfers out. It’s a new era in college football, after all, so the departures weren’t the story. But what he had to replace was.

After losing some key players, getting Williams to recommit is a massive victory. The Crimson Tide have never had a problem with elite wide receiver recruits in the past. Anyone who’s followed DeBoer, especially at Washington, knows what’s capable out of his passing offense.

Time will tell to see how he fleshes out as a recruit. But this is big news for Alabama and something their fans can certainly celebrate over right now.
