The sports world is absolutely buzzing on Thursday. There’s big news out of the world of women’s college basketball, as a top-flight prospect declared her intentions to enter the 2024 WNBA Draft. It’s none other than Iowa Hawkeyes superstar Caitlin Clark.

Clark made her intentions clear with a lengthy message to Hawkeye Nation on Thursday afternoon. She scribed a message thanking her fans, her teammates, coaches, and otherwise for helping her get through this journey.

In her post, she left a heart and a graphic with a lengthy message.

“While this season is far from over, and we have a lot more goals to achieve, it will be my last one at Iowa,” Clark declared. I am excited to be entering the 2024 WNBA Draft,” she said.

“It is impossible for me to fully express my gratitude to everyone who has supported me during my time at Iowa – my teammates, who made the last four years the best; my coaches, trainers, and staff who always let me be me; Hawkeye fans who filled Carver every night; and everyone who came out to support us across the country, especially the young kids.”

Clark is one of the most accomplished women’s basketball players ever. She’s won every available Player of the Year award, along with being a two-time recipient of the Big Ten Player of the Year award. Clark is also one of the most prodigious scorers in NCAA history, men’s or women’s included, as she will stand the test of time as one of the greatest ever to do it.

The WNBA’s Indiana Fever owns the No. 1 pick. So it won’t be that long of a journey to go professional for Clark.

The sports world reacted to the news.
