Calais Campbell joined the National Football League’s 100-Sack Club last Sunday. The Atlanta Falcons defensive end became the 42nd player in NFL history to record at least 100.0 official career sacks (since 1982). Campbell joins a slew of Hall of Fame talents who’ve achieved this feat, like Bruce Smith, Reggie Kevin Greene, and others.

After Campbell set his historic achievement, the Falcon made an incredibly gracious move. Campbell donated $100,000 after the feat.

Josh Kendall of The Athletic posted, “Calais Campbell made a $100,000 donation following his 100th career sack.” Kendall made the post on X, the site formerly known as Twitter.

The donation, according to Kendall, went to teachers in the cities where Campbell has played NFL football. Those cities are Phoenix, Jacksonville, Baltimore, and of course, Atlanta.

The milestone sack was Campbell’s first of this NFL season. Campbell’s sack came in a Falcons victory that brought the team to 3-3. They are in second place in the NFC South behind the 3-2 Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They’re tied with the New Orleans Saints, who are also 3-3 on the year.

Campbell’s donation certainly shows his character. He didn’t even have to do it in the first place, but to extend it not just to Atlanta but to all the cities that he played in throughout his illustrious NFL career really speaks to something. It’s a gracious move and one that should be celebrated.
