The Tennessee Titans might have surprised many on Wednesday. Tennessee moved to sign free agent wide receiver Calvin Ridley, perhaps the best remaining player on the board right now.

Ridley joins the Titans on a massive four-year deal worth up to $92 million. $50 million will be guaranteed to the former Alabama standout, who is on his third team in his NFL career.

“Calvin Ridley is signing with the Tennessee Titans,” ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported. Schefter posted the news on X, the website formerly known as Twitter.

Ridley returned in 2023 after missing the 2022 season following a one-year gambling suspension. He returned to the Jaguars and gave them a boost. He caught 76 receptions for 1,016 yards and eight touchdowns in his final season in teal.

Thus far in his NFL career, the former Crimson Tide star has scored 36 touchdowns, recorded 324 receptions, and totaled 4,358 receiving yards. He’s exceeded 1,000 yards twice: In 2023 and then in 2020 with the Atlanta Falcons. 2020 was Ridley’s best season as a pro. He caught 90 passes for 1,374 yards and scored nine receiving touchdowns.

Ridley joins a Titans team that is in need of a new identity. The team let Mike Vrabel walk before they hired new head coach Brian Callahan. Ridley will probably be the top receiver on the team, ahead of Treylon Burks and others, and give Will Levis a great option in his second year at the helm.
