Calvin Ridley made a significant decision on Wednesday. The talented wide receiver chose to sign with the Tennessee Titans, a surprising move for the veteran wide receiver out of Alabama.

Ridley will sign with the Titans for a massive four-year deal worth up to $92 million. $50 million will be guaranteed to the standout wide receiver, who moves from the Jacksonville Jaguars to another AFC South adversary.

Adam Schefter reported the news on Wednesday. The ESPN NFL insider said, “Calvin Ridley is signing with the Tennessee Titans: 4 years, $92M, $50M fully guaranteed.” Schefter reported the news on X, the website formerly known as Twitter.

Ridley joins the Titans at an interesting time for the team. The Titans are going through a rebuild and have a new head coach. They ditched Mike Vrabel and let Derrick Henry go to Baltimore, and with Will Levis around, it’s a new day in Nashville. It turns out that a second-year quarterback won’t frighten Ridley away from joining the team.

If nothing else, now Levis will have a reliable pass-catcher who can get open downfield. Treylon Burks has been solid, but he doesn’t possess Ridley’s abilities. So expect to see him take over as WR1 for Tennessee next season.

Ridley is coming off a gambling suspension, which has been about the only blemish the former Crimson Tide star has on his record. It’s a mighty noticeable one, but not one he can’t atone for either.

The NFL world had much to say about this signing.
