The Milwaukee Brewers began their 2024 season a day later due to a rainout in New York. It didn’t take long for their top prospect to do something exciting. Brewers top prospect Jackson Chourio did not take long to make an impact in his debut against the New York Mets.
The 20-year-old prospect got aboard in his first at-bat and then decided to move on the bases.
MLB’s second-ranked prospect earned the first stolen base of his career!
“Jackson Chourio has arrived!” MLB boasted on their X account. The post featured the clip of Chourio scampering to second, beating the throw, and earning the stolen base.

Chourio earned a chorus of boos also as Met fans weren’t pleased with the prospect’s baserunning move. But, it’s probably nothing personal at least.
The best is yet to come for the 20-year-old Chourio, who’s one of the most exciting young players in Major League Baseball. The Brewers appear to know that, as unlike the Baltimore Orioles, they decided to bring their top prospect to the big leagues as soon as possible.
Milwaukee will probably contend for the National League Central Division this year, along with the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals. A player of Chourio’s caliber could be what the Brew Crew need to go over the top.
The MLB world had much to say about Chourio’s stolen base.
