Top prospect Jackson Holliday finally reached the Majors this past week. And on Sunday, the Baltimore Orioles saw why Holliday has everyone so excited.

The touted Jackson recorded his first career hit with the Orioles during Sunday’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers. That hit proved pivotal after it sparked a rally that pushed the Orioles out in front over the Brew Crew.

Holliday’s first hit was a memorable single to the right side to push the pressure on the Brewers. And they wound up toppling to that pressure as they lost 6-4.

Holliday received a loud smattering of cheers after recording his first career hit. Baltimore fans have seen their team’s fortune turn to gold over the last calendar year. After years of having the worst team in baseball, the Orioles now boast a ton of young talent poised to make an impact. Between Holliday, Gunnar Henderson, and Adley Rutschman, the Orioles have a bright future.

The Orioles hope to contend this year again after winning the American League East Division last season. They stand 2.5 games behind the first-place New York Yankees after Sunday’s action. The Orioles won while the Yankees lost, but the gap still remains. But Holliday will be around for the team’s first trip up to the Bronx this season. So that could be mighty interesting.

The MLB world had much to say about Jackson Holliday and his first career hit.
