Kalen DeBoer shook the table in college football this offseason. After leading the Washington Huskies to the National Championship Game, DeBoer fled Seattle for the high pressure of Tuscaloosa. He will replace Nick Saban as the Alabama head coach, a move that certainly drew attention from everywhere.

Quarterback Jalen Milroe is one of many players who could have a positive impact with DeBoer around. The talented Milroe has a lot to offer still as a college QB. After a run with both Jake Haener, who went to the NFL, and Michael Penix Jr., who may do the same, Milroe is next.

At a football camp in Tuscaloosa, Milroe fielded some questions, and one of them centered on his new head coach. A reporter asked Milroe how it’s been with DeBoer around and what his first impressions were.

“It’s been great. It’s been great to have him here,” Milroe said. “Having him here and all that he’s done. He’s very personable and he’s bringing good energy to the locker room and we’re all excited to have him here.”

More from Milroe, who talked about whether the offense feels excited regarding DeBoer and his offensive prowess.

“Oh yeah. No doubt,” Milroe said. “The biggest thing for a football team is you wanna improve and get better the next season. And so we’re in that process right now, with trying to be the best version of ourselves each and every day. We’re going to do a lot of good things this year and I’m super excited to have him here.”
