The Kansas Jayhawks have been one of college football’s biggest surprises this season. The 25th-ranked Jayhawks are 7-3 this season in a busy Big 12 where they’re just two games behind conference-leading Texas. Jalon Daniels has been instrumental to that success, as the KU quarterback has been dynamite in 2023.
But his future was uncertain, and as the season winds down, Daniels let everyone know where his head was.
The KU quarterback released a video where he cleared everything up, saying he wasn’t done yet at Kansas.

Daniels said in the video, “I’mma be blunt. This season didn’t go as planned, but life comes at you fast, and sometimes, your story is out of your control. But I guess that means I have unfinished business.
“My dreams haven’t changed, my goals are still there, and my vision for my future is clear,” he said. “So you want something to talk about? Talk about this: I’m not done yet and I’m not going anywhere.”
Daniels’ statement comes at a time where stability will be desired at Kansas. Head coach Lance Leipold will likely have his name come up for open coaching positions across the country. Leipold has done a fantastic job in Lawrence. Of course, there’s always a catch to success, especially in places where it’s not commonplace.
Fortunately for Kansas fans, it looks like one key piece won’t be going anywhere soon.
