Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson missed practice on Thursday, which alarmed many in the NFL world. It turns out that the 2019 NFL MVP is battling an illness.
Jackson’s absence made a lot more sense when NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported an update on his previously unknown status.
“Ravens QB Lamar Jackson, who was not spotted during the media portion of practice, is dealing with an illness,” Rapoport posted on X, the website formerly known as Twitter.

It is December, so hopefully, whatever Jackson is dealing with isn’t ailing him too much. It’s hard out here amid everything, so whatever is going on, hopefully, it passes with ease.
Jackson has played productive football for the 9-3 Ravens this season. He’s completed 68.3 percent of his passes for 2,618 yards. He’s thrown 13 passing touchdowns and just five interceptions. Should he accumulate seven more touchdowns through the air, it would be the first time since 2020 that Jackson had a 20-touchdown season.
Jackson has also rushed for five touchdowns this season, giving him 18 total.
The Ravens have a tough road ahead of them in December. They host the feisty LA Rams this weekend before matchups ahead with Jacksonville, San Francisco, Miami, and Pittsburgh. All four are playoff teams as of right now. They will surely need Lamar if they want to compete ee till the end, so for their sake, he heals up quickly.
