A former top-flight EDGE recruit has entered the NCAA transfer portal.
Miami Hurricanes defensive lineman Cyrus Moss will transfer from the program. The former Top 150 recruit in 2022 has plenty left in the tank right now with three years of eligibility still left on his ledger.
Hayes Fawcett of On3 reported the news.
“Miami EDGE Cyrus Moss has entered the Transfer Portal, he tells On3Sports,” Fawcett wrote. “The 6’6 220 EDGE will have 3 years of eligibility remaining. Was ranked as a Top 105 recruit in 2022.”

Moss was formerly an Oregon target back when head coach Mario Cristobal coached the Ducks. After Cristobal left Eugene for Coral Gables, Moss eventually decided on being a Cane as well.
Unfortunately, things haven’t amounted into what Moss and Cristobal both likely expected from him. In two seasons and just five games played, Moss has one recorded tackle in his collegiate career.
So, wherever he goes next will most likely represent a fresh start for him. Whatever juju has been around him in South Florida clearly hasn’t helped him land on the right side of the coin. Perhaps a change of scenery will do him good.
The Hurricanes will keep their heads up and level on the transfer portal also. Despite another average season, the Hurricanes are expected to take home a top-tier recruiting class for 2024.
