The Minnesota Golden Gophers won the Quick Lane Bowl on Tuesday over the Bowling Green Falcons. With the win, the Gophers did something pretty rad.

The story coming out of this year’s Quick Lane Bowl is Minnesota’s bowl-game-winning streak. Head coach P.J. Fleck helped lead the Gophers to a 30-24 win. The victory extended the Golden Gophers postseason win streak up to seven games in a row.

Minnesota boasted over their winning ways on X, the website formerly known as Twitter.

Fleck can be credited with five of these seven wins dating back to the 2015… Quick Lane Bowl. It’s funny how that works. Tracy Claeys and Jerry Kill were credited with the other two wins for future trivia questions. They’ve won three Quick Lane Bowls in this streak (2015, 2018, 2023).

Also included are the 2022 Pinstripe Bowl, the 2021 Guaranteed Rate Bowl, the 2019 Outback Bowl, and the 2016 Holiday Bowl.

Minnesota owns the second-longest active bowl-game-winning streak in America. They are one behind the Alabama Crimson Tide, who’ve won a bowl game in each of their last eight tries.

So, funnily enough, if Minnesota wants to become the active leader in consecutive bowl wins then they’re going to have to do the unthinkable. Gopher fans will have to root for rival Michigan in the Rose Bowl to snap the Crimson Tide’s winning streak.
