Myles Garrett Akron Beacon Journal

Cleveland Browns star Myles Garrett criticized NFL officials this past week. Not surprisingly, the NFL answered back to that criticism. On Saturday, news emerged that the league fined the former Texas A&M standout.

Garrett was fined $25,000 by the NFL, per reports. Cleveland.com reported the news of Garrett’s fine on Saturday afternoon. The fine comes after Garrett called the officiating during Cleveland’s victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars last week “a travesty.”

Regardless, Big Shield has struck back at Browns defensive end Myles Garrett. Via Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, the league has fined Garrett $25,000 for his criticism of officials after last weekend’s win over the Jaguars.

Garrett had a lot to say about the officials that were in charge during the team’s win against the Jaguars. Pro Football Talk wrote that Garrett said, “The officiating was a travesty today. It was honestly awful. And the fact that they’re letting them get away with hands to the face, holding, false starting — I know they called a couple, but damn, they could have called it all game. And [there was] the one that cost us down on the 2-yard line.”

Garrett pushed for more accountability, something that many have called for around the league. Players, pundits, commentators, and fans alike have wanted the refs to be held accountable at minimum. But oftentimes, that’s just not the case.
