The Detroit Pistons are in the midst of a historic slide. They’re just 2-26 on the season, an abysmal record that’s put them down at the bottom of the Eastern Conference. They’ve lost an egregious 25 games in a row after grabbing just their second win of the season. To think this team started 2-1.

As you might expect, fans are beyond restless. They’re angry, they’re irritated, frustrated, and some of the might just have apathy. But there have been cries lately from the fanbase. Loud ones that are being sent towards Pistons owner Tom Gores. “Sell the team!” the fans have begun shouting in the Motor City.

The lowly Pistons and their fans deserve a lot more than they’re getting. But it sounds like Gores isn’t thrilled with the chants at all.

The Athletic interviewed the Pistons’ owner amid the team’s futile slide. A discussion on the fans’ chants came up. Gores responded by calling the chants “ridiculous” while he put over the team’s outreach and what they contribute to the community.

Of course, Gores also said this while also saying, “If you put aside winning.” Unfortunately, that comment probably wont’ register too well with a fanbase that’s begging to see the team not only compete but win games. And when ti comes down to it, the goal of sports is to win, right?

It sounds like a tense situation in the Motor City isn’t going to be improving soon.
