Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews has missed significant time this season. As the Divisional Round approaches, it doesn’t sound like Andrews will play for the team.

NFL.com reports that the Ravens don’t plan to activate the three-time Pro Bowler for their Divisional Round game against the Houston Texans. Andrews hasn’t progressed well enough for the team to deem him good enough to activate.

“The Ravens’ star tight end is not expected to be activated from injured reserve ahead of Saturday’s Divisional Round matchup against the visiting Houston Texans, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported Friday,” NFL.com wrote.

Andrews sustained an ankle injury back in Week 11 that’s caused him to miss time since then. When he’s healthy, he’s one of the best tight ends in the sport. The three-time Pro Bowler and former First Team All-Pro selection has been a consistent threat and target for star quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Jackson and the Ravens have been able to navigate the waters without Andrews. The margin for error in the playoffs does decrease significantly. So, without him around, the Ravens will have to get creative. There’s no denying what he can bring to the table when he’s healthy. It’s unfortunate for the Ravens that they’ll have to trudge on like this. But such is life in the NFL sometimes.

Across his career, Andrews has recorded 381 receptions, 4,857 yards, and 40 receiving touchdowns.
