Cowboys

Tony Pollard will be testing the NFL’s free agency market later this month. But would the former Dallas Cowboys star return to the team?

It sounds like he will not only contemplate that but is also willing to make a serious concession.

According to Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News, Pollard is reportedly “open to taking less” for a return to the Cowboys.

Watkins emerged with the news on Wednesday amid a busy day in the National Football League.

“Tony Pollard open to taking less for Cowboys return,” Watkins said, adding that the running back still intends to test the market this year.

It will be a busy offseason for running backs this year. Pollard is one of several notable names to enter free agency. Austin Ekeler, Josh Jacobs, and Saquon Barkley will also be free agents. So, it will be a busy market with plenty of lofty talent available to teams. Given the descent of the running back over the past few years, it could be fascinating to watch.

It may turn out in the Cowboys’ favor that Pollard is rumored to be willing to accept less. Certainly, that could help them not only retain his services, but also pursue other high-profile free agents. All that is left to do is to see how everything shakes out.
