While the floodgates opened in Seattle after Kalen DeBoer left the Washington program, one Husky will stay.

Dyson McCutcheon, a Husky defensive back, entered the transfer portal like many of his teammates. But the rising senior won’t be leaving Seattle after all. He withdrew his name fro the transfer portal, according to a report that emerged on Tuesday.

On3 wrote, “Washington defensive back Dyson McCutcheon has withdrawn from the NCAA transfer portal.”

McCutcheon has played limited time in his three years at Washington. He only has five career tackles, and one career passes defended in his career. So obviously, he feels he has a lot to accomplish still. As a veteran on the team, he’ll likely have that chance as they look to rebuild their depleted roster.

That could be a reason that he made the move back too. Perhaps opportunity will come at a greater chance in Seattle than he could elsewhere. The grass isn’t often greener.

Much of the Washington team left the program after Kalen DeBoer accepted the Alabama Crimson Tide job. That includes cornerback Jabaar Muhammad and quarterback Austin Mack. They’re reeling due to transfers, graduation, and the NFL Draft. New head coach Jedd Fisch will have his hands full up on Montlake, but he’ll have at least one veteran on the team.
